Catching up from the ultrasound last week!

Ok....so we had our ultrasound on Friday....and there is just ONE HEALTHY BABY! The ultrasound tech said that everything looked good....a strong heart beat and measured right on the date. Mattalyn however couldn't believe it was a baby. He let her sit beside me on the table and let her help put the ultrasound gel on....they made a smiley face on my belly. Then as soon as he put the transducer on my tummy there it was....a little sac and a little jelly bean. Mattalyn looks up and says"That doesn't look much like a baby to me." We explained to her that is what babies look like when they start to grow and that she looked like that once too. We were in there for a matter of 2 minutes probably. As soon as I walked out there was Dr. Davis' nurse Sue. She had been waiting for me to come out. I LOVE HER LOVE HER LOVE HER! Kathy had also been watching from the back desk. Everyone wanted to know that it was all ok. That makes you feel so good to know that people who it really doesn't personally affect cares. I know they have been there through all the fertility meds and tests and all and I know it is a relief to finally see some happiness on all 3 of our faces. Mattalyn told Sue she was gonna be a big sister...how sweet. But anyways....we go back on March 10th to let Dr. Davis listen to the heartbeat on the doppler. I will be 10 weeks then. Mattalyn is going too...I'm going to try and get her to every appt. so she feels extremely involved in every aspect of having a baby. And if all goes well....she's gonna be sitting beside Momma's shoulder on the bed when the baby comes out. I know alot of you will disagree...but if I have the same delivery like I did with her...I had an epidural and did no yelling and it was calm as can be...I plan on her being there. She knows it has to come out....so she will be there....not visualizing "down there". She'll be up by my shoulders and will know the moment we know what the baby is. She's as stoked as Matt and I. I'll update soon.... Oh yeah... and to better inform Mattalyn of the baby growing we have gotten an acct on babycenter.com and we can see what the baby looks like every week in the womb so she can see that the baby does grow and they compare the size to every day items....this week it's the size of a kidney bean. That has sooo helped!
Well...that's enough for now. Talk to you guys later! Keep us on your prayer lists....it's still soooo early!

baby update

Ok...sorry it's been a week or more....alot has been going on. i have worked soooo much! i had my blood work done from the last time. Dr. Davis wanted to see if my HCG levels were increasing properly. The first draw was 1111 on last Monday and we redrew them last Wed. and they had raised to 3016 (wanted them to double...they did plus some) and then last Friday we did them again and they were 5826....so they are doing great. He was happy and decided that we were probably doing good with my levels and didn't have to draw anymore unless something happens. I do have an appt for an ultrasound a week from tomorrow (Feb 20). By then we should be able to see the baby and all. So to wrap up all this ...... I and the baby are doing great except for a little nausea. Mattalyn is excited! We have decided on first names for a boy or a girl...but no no no...it's a secret! And we have decided when the time comes for the ultrasound where you can decide to know the sex...we are gonna wait until the baby is born. It has taken a blessing from God to get this little one so we are gonna let him take care of it all...whatever he chooses for us to have. Thanks for everyone's prayers.....but please keep us in them! It's still early...but I am praying for a healthy baby!
Love to you all!

Due Oct 5 2009

Ok...so I promised I would keep everyone posted on our new expecting baby so here goes. Our first OB visit with Dr. Joe Davis today. I had to take another urine test and yes....positive for the 5th time. You know something weird....It actually hit me at this time that it was indeed true! I started to cry and hugged Sue (nurse). She has been through this entire process with us with medicines and labs and no good news for so long. She was elated with the news too! So we drew about 4 or 5 tubes of blood to check my health and check my hcg levels and we are gonna redraw them on Wednesday also to make sure they are continuing to rise. At that time we are going to schedule an ultrasound to see if there is one or more little ones in there and make sure that the baby is growing adequately. There is a low chance that there may be twins...but Courtney Calloway is living proof that it does happen. We were on the same medication for infertility and she's due in about 4 weeks with twins! So either way if it is one or more we are extremely excited! Mattalyn can't wait. She has a magazine that will show her how the baby grows month by month. She's going to be a great big sister. But until next time....I hope and pray that this little one keeps growing and developing correctly! Please keep us in your prayers!
